
On behalf of Aventa Dutch Caribbean, Deloitte Dutch Caribbean is looking for candidates for the position of: Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The organization
Aventa Dutch Caribbean is the regional pharmaceutical and healthcare distributor within the Aventa Group (part of the Agostini family of companies). The Aventa Group operates across the Caribbean and is a trusted leader in pharmaceutical and healthcare solutions. Through its regional presence, Aventa provides high quality medicines, healthcare products, and patient focused services that improve lives and strengthen communities. The Dutch Caribbean business includes operations in Curaçao and Aruba and incorporates Pharmaceutical Warehousing International (PWI), a 3PL pharmaceuticals business based in the Hato Freezone, supporting regional export and logistics.
The position
As CEO, you will report to the Group CEO and set and deliver the strategic and annual operating plans for Aventa Dutch Caribbean. You will translate long term trends, competitive intelligence and technology insight into clear strategic priorities and regional growth initiatives. You will own performance management, delivering accurate KPI reporting, forecasts and compliant operational reports to the Group CEO and Board. You will drive commercial growth through partnerships, supplier relationships and new business development across pharmaceutical, marketing and logistics lines. You will strengthen governance, financial discipline and risk management to ensure robust controls and audit readiness. You will champion digital solutions that improve decision making, customer service and operational efficiency. You will represent Aventa in regional forums, government engagements and industry bodies to enhance reputation and stakeholder trust.
You will lead the professionalization of the organization, embedding standard operating rhythms, performance management and continuous improvement disciplines. You will implement people programs for talent development, succession planning and employee wellness, and resolve complex employee relations matters. You will ensure regulatory and quality compliance across the business, with particular attention to pharmaceutical standards, procurement and logistics. You will oversee disciplined execution of operational KPIs, ensuring ownership, timely corrective actions and improved cost to serve. You will build and coach a high performing regional leadership team that operates independently yet aligns with Group governance. You will manage major contracts, supplier negotiations and financial performance to deliver sustainable margins and growth.
Your profile
• Master’s degree preferably in business administration, pharmaceuticals or logistics
• Minimum of 10 years progressive senior leadership experience, ideally at executive level (CEO, MD or Head of Business)
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
• Proven track record in developing strategy and translating it into operational execution through KPIs
• Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, auditors and regulators
• Experience in change management and professionalizing organizations, including strengthening financial controls and governance
• Understanding of logistics, procurement and regulatory requirements in pharmaceutical or regulated services
• Ability to identify and implement digital solutions to improve business performance
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish (Papiamentu is an advantage)
• Willingness to relocate to Curaçao and travel regionally
• Comfortable operating autonomously with limited on island oversight
