BONHATA, the leading association representing Bonaire’s hospitality and tourism sector, is seeking an inspiring and strategic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our organization into the future. As CEO, you will be responsible for realizing BONHATA’s strategic and operational objectives, supporting the Board of Directors, representing the organization locally and internationally, and driving innovation and growth in Bonaire’s tourism industry.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of BONHATA’s vision, strategy, and multi-year plans in alignment with the Board of Directors.

Oversee daily decision-making, policy formation, and ensure optimal business operations and integrated service delivery.

Advise the Board on strategic issues, prepare policy proposals, and support in negotiations and stakeholder meetings.

Represent BONHATA externally, build and maintain a strong network with local, regional, and international partners, and act as the organization’s spokesperson.

Drive member engagement, fundraising, and explore alternative financing opportunities.

Inspire, coach, and manage BONHATA’s team, fostering a positive work environment and high performance.

Ensure financial sustainability, compliance, and transparent reporting.
What We’re Looking For

A level of education and professional experience equivalent to higher professional education HBO/WO.

At least 10 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role.

Broad knowledge of organizational management, with insight into social, political, and economic developments affecting the tourism sector.

Affinity with the tourism industry and Bonaire’s societal landscape.

Strong diplomatic, networking, and communication skills in English and Dutch (Spanish and Papiamentu are a plus).

Proven ability to innovate, build partnerships, and represent organizational interests at all levels.
